Wedding Favors for Charity

Looking for wedding favors that are unique, meaningful, and will always remind guests of your special day? Make a donation to your favorite charity in honor of your guests—the most personal gift you can give:

* Honor a loved one with a donation to their favorite charity.
* Celebrate your community with a donation to a local charity.
* Remember a family member with a memorial donation.
* One for each of you? Choose two charities.

How Favors for Charity Works:

* Decide how much to donate; give a set amount or a few dollars per guest.
* Order place cards to let your guests know about your gift. (optional)
* Make a donation and purchase place cards; we will send you a receipt
* We make the donation to the charity of your choice.

Given that most weddings cost thousands and thousands of dollars, I find it hard to believe that hosts would have additional money to make donations as gifts to their guests! The idea of "wedding favors" in the first place is undoubtedly a fabrication of the nuptial industry and totally unnecessary. The hosts have provided a celebration for the guests--let the guests celebrate the couple by donating to the charity of _their_ choice.

Wedding favors are a traditional way to thank your guests for attending the wedding. It is not a fabrication of the wedding industry, the history of wedding favors dates back hundreds of years. Giving a donation to charity is a great alternative to the traditional favors handed out - and the money goes to a good cause. This is great to memoralize someone and have them a part of the wedding.

As stated the tradition of giving wedding favors began in ancient times and was a practice only for the rich in society. This tradition has evolved to include couples with modest means as well. Over the years, wedding favors became more unique and affordable. Are they necessary? I think this answer depends on the beliefs of the bride and groom.
