Tens of thousands of people in the U.S. Gulf Coast have fled their homes in response to Hurricane Ike, while others are still in great need in Hurricane Gustav's wake. Relief efforts are underway for evacuees and to support state and local authorities in their response.

American Red Cross:
Helping evacuees in shelters in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas by moving workers, ready-to-eat meals, cots and blankets to more than 200 mobile feeding trucks.
World Vision International:
Coordinating with hundred of churches and community groups to host and help evacuees. Emergency supplies ready in Mississippi and Dallas; more on standby across the country.
